Toronto L'Oreal Fashion Week Day Three

Fashion Nation

Today's more interesting fashion catwalks, at least in my opinion, came from the designers Bustle and Andy The-Ahn.

What made the Bustle catwalk interesting is that they put stripped green Astroturf down all along the runway. Fans were also added just off to the side of the photographers. They were adjusted to swoosh the model's hair once the model got to the end of the catwalk.

As the model walked back up the runway he or she would check out the other model walking towards us. One model even tried licking the other model's face. It seems like a simple idea but it made the Bustle collection stick out a little more in your mind than the other collections where the models just walk up and down like emotionless coat hangers.

Lick that other model.

The old peering over the sunglasses trick.

Bustle

Andy The-Anh's show was more theatrical in that they used spot lights to light up the models along the catwalk. For us photographers it's difficult to shoot as the light intensity changes the closer the model gets to the light. The other difficulty was that the spotlights used were a different color temperature than the rest of the runway lighting. Who thought that was a good idea?
